Interface and surface formation in self-assembled polymer multilayers by off-specular neutron scattering

Free-surface and interface properties of a polystyrene-polybuthylmethacrylate multilayer film are studied by neutron specular reflection and off-specular scattering. Experimental data collected over a broad range of incoming and outgoing wave vectors are fitted by a theoretical model that delivers a set of parameters characterizing the state of the outermost layer as well as the conformal roughness of the interfaces.
