Title

Intelligent Energy Systems as Enabler for Increased Resilience of Manufacturing Systems

Abstract
The discussion on manufacturing systems' resilience is currently dominated by logistic targets. However, with the ongoing energy transition and the respective increasing volatility of power supply, the focus is broadened to include power supply as a considerable source of disturbances. Therefore, an efficient adaptive control of manufacturing companies' power consumption dependent on the power supply is necessary without counteracting the logistic targets. This paper elaborates the benefits of information systems supporting manufacturing companies in automating the synchronization of power demand and supply, the so-called demand response, to increase their resilience.
