Title
Designing a Reference Architecture for Collaborative Condition Monitoring Data Spaces: Design Requirements and Views
Abstract
Industry 4.0 and the industrial digital transformation drastically reshape manufacturing and maintenance processes. Managing maintenance costs increasingly prompts companies to employ data-based services such as condition monitoring for optimization. Utilizing these novel services requires companies to share data with others for maximum impact. Data spaces for collaborative condition monitoring have emerged as digital artifacts supporting data sharing across companies to enhance the reliability and efficiency of machinery. However, the concept is still being transferred into practice, and we aim to supplement it by reporting on a Design Science Research (DSR) study extracting a set of design requirements for a reference architecture. As a first step, we present necessary functionalities and their distribution to corresponding components. These serve as the foundation for the further development of a reference architecture.
