Integrated knowledge models of products, processes and resources with key indicators for economic and energy performance

This article introduces a framework for the description and exchange of product, process and resource data together with key indicator formulas for assessing the economic and energy performance of production systems. The pro-posed framework is based on Semantic Web technologies that simplify the representation of system models and reduce the efforts required for the integration of external data. The framework's application is demonstrated by means of a prototypical knowledge management tool that supports the technology planning of process chains for the production of body-in-white parts.
