Wideband THz Yagi-Uda Bond Wire Antennas

Abstract
We model, design and compare the characteristics of Yagi-Uda quasi-half loop bond wire antennas (QHL-BWAs) on low-loss and lossy substrates at THz frequencies. Our results reveal that lossy substrates can be used for the development of these antennas, even in the 0.3 THz band, without severe degradation of the antenna performance. A Yagi-Uda QHL-BWA is fabricated and measured in the 0.3 THz band. Good correction is obtained between measurement and simulation results.
