Multifunctional transponders in embedded-network-systems for microtelemetry combined with logistics

Transponders as radio frequency identification devices have reached an indispensable status in many industrial, automotive and logistics applications. The extension to multifunctional transponders and the availability of network systems provides the path for new applications and services in many fields. This paper introduces the technology of multifunctional transponders and presents current applications in the smart home area. Futhermore, a new application of an integrated delivery and replenishment service is presented.
