The tandem equalizer

The practical dimension of Lytle's necessary and sufficient condition for the convergence of the Zero forcing algorithm of Lucky's equalizer (1965) is illustrated. A sufficient but not necessary condition which is easier to implement is derived out of this condition. A preparing filter algorithm which modifies any input sequence to apply to this derived condition is deduced. The results of a computer simulation of the tandem equalizer consisting of the preparing filter and Lucky's Zero forcing filter are presented.
