Because of the increasing use of contact adhesive strips in industrial production it is important to know whether the increasingly frequently used separation materials for contact adhesive strips based on silicones are responsible for surprisingly occurring wetting disturbances (cratering) or adhesive failure. In a three-part contribution the aspects of silicone transmission and effect of silicones were clarified. In the present following discussions the silicones are evaluated with respect to their effect on gluing and coating processes.
