Title

Influence of the oxidation process in laser gas cutting

Abstract
In laser gas cutting an appreciable fraction of the required energy flow density is contributed by the chemical reactions. As known from autogenous gas cutting two different mechanism controlled reaction within an oxide layer. The interdependencies of gas flow, chemical reaction process, laser power, cutting speed, and plate thickness are studied.
