Mechanical properties of laser welded aluminium joints

The research work in the field of laser beam welding of aluminium has not been finished. Main emphasis is put on further research investigations with the CO2- laser as well as the use of new more powerful Nd: YAG systems. It is the aim to convert the good handling properties of the tool laser beam into complexe form parts as well as the high welding speeds into simple joining geometries with longer seam path.
