Quantum Computing has great potential to boost modern computer science. One of the most promising applications
is in the area of quantum chemistry. The aim hereby is to calculate molecular energy eigenstates utilizing a quantum computer, which is a well-controlled quantum system. In recent years, significant progress has been made in quantum hardware and software; however, further steps are still needed to harness quantum effects in practice to eventually achieve quantum advantage.
