Experience prototyping: A new approach to designing firefighter navigation support

Designing pervasive computing for hostile environments is challenging, because it's difficult to assess the many design options and their implications. To help address this issue, the authors developed the FireSim experience-prototyping approach. They report on FireSim studies of the LifeNet navigation system for firefighters.
