Management des offenen, verteilten und fehlertoleranten Delta-4 Rechensystems

The ESPRIT Delta-4 Project is aimed at establishing a range of concepts and prototypes designed specifically to address application areas which require to support simultaneuosly large scale distribution, dependability and real-time. This paper presents projects results that have lead to the realisation of a prototype comprising two main components of Delta-4: the dependable communication system and the management system. Several management facilities are described: the management of replicated files, a data base supporting the configuration of application- and communication objects and a performance monitor based on ISO/OSI principles.
