Abstract
The design of automotive batterie housings aims to become ever more lightweight as performance increases. The use of plastic composite materials is increasingly becoming a design focus. In the project presented a lithium-ion battery module was designed from a blank slate with the aim to conceptualize, design and evaluate the benefits of composite housing parts. Focusing on the thermal management, this paper gives an overview about the considered cooling concepts, the design and simulation of an integrated tab cooling and the evaluation on the testbench.
