Radar-based detection of hidden people at different frequency bands

Abstract
In this work several millimeter wave systems in different frequency bands are tested with regard to their suitability for the extraction of vital parameters through different materials. The center frequencies of the systems are 7.29 GHz, 24 GHz, 80 GHz and 240 GHz. They are based on different radar principles, more precisely, we make use of an UWB pulse radar, a MIMO radar and a monostatic FMCW radar. The vital signs are determined on the basis of two distinct algorithms, due to the fact that the systems have different bandwidths and therefore varying range resolutions.
