Title

Overview of Metal Sinter-Based Additive Manufacturing (SBAM)

Abstract
Laser powder bed fusion (LPBF) is widely used in Additive Manufacturing of metals, but it has limitations in terms of geometries, materials, and productivity. Sinter-based additive manufacturing (SBAM) processes like Metal Binder Jetting (MBJ) or Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF) are gaining importance. New processes like MoldJet (MJ) or Lithography-based Metal Manufacturing (LMM) are also emerging and attracting attention. However, further development is needed in areas like heat treatment and sinter simulation. This review compares the status of SBAM processes with LPBF and discusses future development trends and market potential.
