Systematic guideline for analyzing the potential of additive manufacturing in toolmaking

Abstract
AM is expected to lead to further performance improvements in the near future and thus becomes more monetary viable. In the consequence, it is recommended to challenge the evaluation results on a regular basis.The WBA and IPT have conducted several industry projects in the context of AM. Currently, they are investigating in a consortium project with eight tool shops and three AM system providers applications and potentials for AM in toolmaking including the development of promising business models. The WBA and IPT are open for visits and discussions to all AM interested companie
