Realizing competitive advantages by CIM-projects? Lessons learned from German CIM-implementations
Abstract
For achieving economic benefits from CIM implementations the realization has to fulfill CIM project goals, CIM-project goals have to be defined accordingly to the strategic priorities of a company. In practice even this simple logic seems rather difficult to assure. As analysis of CIM-implementations in 40 companies in the beginning of their CIM projects shows, definition of CIM project goals is not always in line with the strategic priorities of a company or is even contradicting them. The article will layout this in detail and shows which basic approaches ensure a more meaningful CIM-implementation.
