Flexible solutions for low-level visual feature descriptors in MPEG-7

This paper reports about descriptors for basic visual information features (color, texture, shape, motion) developed in the context of the forthcoming MPEG-7 standard. Modular and flexible solutions are presented, which allow a wide range of possible applications.
