Title

Stereoscopic video signals are key-mixed by disparity control

Abstract
Describes methods for mixing stereoscopic video signals, where automatic size and position control is needed to maintain plausibility between varying foreground and background. The Z-key method is used. Applications for stereoscopic video and graphics handling are mentioned. Images showing stereoscopic scene mixing are reproduced. Suggests that chroma key mixing may be employed for maintaining plausibility. Reference is made to a programming system without penetrating into the background. Scaling calculations are presented. This leads to an explanation of the Z-key process originally described by T. Kanade et al. (1996).
