Abstract
The digitization of production enables a rapid transformation from mass production to customized manufacturing. Communication plays an essential role in this digital transformation; in particular, wireless communication enables a high degree of flexibility, dynamic interactions, and mobility support in production systems. In the 5G-COMET Project a real-time communication infrastructure, based on 5G and Time-Sensitive Net-working (TSN) is developed. This infrastructure is then being validated in industrial use cases, such as cloud-controlled mobile robots and robot-based laser processing.
