Entsorgung schwermetallhaltiger Treibstoffkomponenten

Disposal of propellants containing heavy metals
Abstract
As a result of a preliminary study a conception for the nonpolluting disposal of primers containing mercury fulminate which have been used by the former 'NVA' is presented. Besides some conventional techniques an electroflotation-process is provided to eliminate heavy metals below legal limits. This process also effects the conversion of other pollutants to substances that can be recycled or simply be disposed. Electrofloation is a new technique for waste water treatment. It is mostly applied on the basis of empirical experience. Therefore further experiments are necessary to determine and optimize the operating conditions of the processes.
