Title

Influence of feedstocks on performance and products of processes

Abstract
Even though biomasses usually consist of cellulose, hemicellulose, lignin as well as starch and sugars in different compositions, they also differ in their ash content as well in their composition, which is the most significant constituent in affecting thermochemical treatment processes. Fouling processes in combustion facilities as well as gasifiers are well known if feeds other than wood or coal are used. The humidity of the feedstock is also a very relevant parameter. While combustion and gasification processes deals with feeds with a moisture content higher than 20% (like fresh wood) it is almost impossible to run a fast pyrolysis process with such high moisture content.
