Venoms are a rich source of drug leads. However, only recent developments enabled the study of venom from small arthropods by modern omics approaches. To evaluate the pharmaceutical potential of compounds identified in the venom, they need to be assessable. To achieve this, our team has pioneered the establishment of biotechnological production tools to open new avenues for medical biodiscovery.
