Other Title
Process Optimization Using the Process Atlas Systematic. Method and its Benefits on the Case of Maintenance of Auxiliary Power Units of Civil Aircrafts
Abstract

The Process Atlas Systematic (PAS) represents an evolutionary approach to the analysis and design of industrial processes. It was developed by transferring theories of cartography and is characterized by an easy-tolearn notation and a wide range of applications. The PAS forces its user to concentrate on the essentials and pays special attention to critical interfaces in the process organization. In this paper, the advantages and deficits of established methods of process optimization are first demonstrated by means of a utility analysis using the maintenance of auxiliary power units as a case study. Subsequently, the application and benefits of PAS are demonstrated using the case study from the aviation industry.
