Title
RecceMan - ein interaktives Werkzeug für die Unterstützung und Weiterbildung in der Bildauswertung
Abstract
The concept of a computer-based retrieval and information system for the support and training of image interpreters was developed and implemented in an experimental demonstrator named RecceMan (Reconnaissance Manual). Reference Data about objects- to-identify (features as well as sample imagery) is stored in a relational database system and displayed via dynamic HTML-pages on any regular web browser. Retrieval is carried out iteratively through a query tree that can be specifically designed in order to satisfy the need of image interpretation. The query tree adapts its appearance dynamically according to the retrieval state and directs the user's attention onto the most significant features respectively RecceMan contains a protocolling function that records user activities for unsupervised usability experiments and is actually under experimental evaluation by a reconnaissance squadron of the German Air Force.
