Title
All-optical interconnection of broadband optical customer networks
Abstract
Transparent optical networks will become more and more important in the near future. Therefore a key issue for future optical networking is the all-optical interconnection of existing, independent networks. In this paper general solutions for topologies of the all-optical interconnection of individual broadband customer networks are discussed and results of system experiments are reported. The described architectures for the all-optical interconnection of individual LANs allow to utilize TDM- and WDM- as well as dense WDM-techniques.
