Web-based maintenance services for manufacturing systems

In contrast to the already established remote diagnostics in case of machine failure, new online services can support the customer not only in exceptional situations but also in the daily production process during the whole life cycle of the machine. The paper presents specific remote service applications for condition monitoring and maintenance assistance that were developed in close cooperation with partners from industry. The machine producer will act as service provider to monitor machine health and deliver maintenance support and training sequences. The realized service platform that manages user and service profiles and communication for these services is illustrated.
