Title
Configuration Support for Flexible Production Systems
Abstract
Production systems become more and more flexible and provide an increasing number of possible configurations, often more than one can handle. Furthermore given constraints have to be considered. Software tools can support the user in solving this complex task. In this paper a universal method for adaptation is presented. It is based on simulations and evolutionary algorithms. It has not been designed for best efficiency at a single task but for good efficiency for various kinds of adaptation and configuration problems. Users can adapt the tool fast and easily to new applications by configuring standardized interfaces.
