Additive Manufacturing: Challenges and Advantages for the Medical Industry

Additive manufacturing technologies (Rapid Prototyping) have been applied in medical engineering for several years. This presentation describes the technology of Selective Laser sintering. Examples from product development of the Fraunhofer Society will be shown as well as newest research results in the field of material development.
