Many companies realize need for migrating their legacy systems to modern software and hardware technology in order to meet actual business processes and to decrease processing and maintenance costs. The migration of character-based mainframe user interfaces (CUIs) to graphical user Interfaces (GUIs) plays a central role in this scenario. The goal of the workshop `Migration of User Interfaces` at the Fraunhofer Institute for Software Engineering and Systems Engineering (ISST) in September, 27, 1994, was to discusses results, experiences, and research plans with the focus on "Automating the Migration of CUIs to GUIs". The proceedings of this workshop contain three parts: Part 1: general concepts Part 2: specific approaches and tools Part 3: comparison of approaches and tools.
