Title
Hydrogen technologies in buildings
Abstract
Using hydrogen as an energy carrier to supply energy to buildings in the future has been a topic of great discussion in the industry for many years, as it would make it possible to store energy locally and convert it into heat and electricity as needed, without producing emissions. As a gaseous fuel, hydrogen has a high exergy content and can thus provide heat at temperatures above 70 °C. This chapter will outline the options for making hydrogen available where it is needed, the potential of the technology, and methods for applying hydrogen technologies in supplying energy to buildings. The costs and economic viability of these methods will also be discussed.
