Title

Experimental and numerical studies to enhance the reproducibility of corrosion testing

Abstract
In corrosion tests containing salt spray phases it is crucial to have a homogeneous and reproducible distribution of droplets. For that reason the nozzles are characterized by measuring the droplet size distribution by laser diffraction and the circulation of the droplets containing salted water in the testing chamber is investigated by numerical simulations. With that mean a deep insight and a systematic optimization is possible. Important conclusions are drawn regarding the type of the nozzles and the air flow in the chambers. Most of the applications are referred to big automotive testing devices.
