Die Potentiale der Digitalen Fabrik (schneller zu höherer Planungsqualität) sind allgemein bekannt und nachgewiesen. Bei der Übertragung auf das eigene Unternehmen jedoch fällt der konkrete Potentialnachweis schwer. Hinzu kommt die Befürchtung hoher Kosten für hochkomplexe IT (Informationstechnologie)-Lösungen. Mit der am Fraunhofer IPA entwickelten Methode "DigiPlan-Check" werden dem Unternehmen die wesentlichen Systemelemente der Digitalen Fabrik und zu optimierende Planungstätigkeiten aufgezeigt - schrittweise und potentialbasierend. Der Unternehmensnutzen wird klar. Zudem wird das wirtschaftlich Sinnvolle und nicht das technisch Machbare avisiert.

The potentials of the digital manufacturing (faster to higher planning quality) are commonly known and accepted. However, it is hard to transform these potentials to concrete potentials of the own company. This stands opposite the fear of high costs for highly complex IT-solutions. The method DigiPlan-Check, which was developed by the Fraunhofer IPA, shows the company the important system elements of digital manufacturing and the planning tasks to be optimized. All this will be done step-by-step and based on the individual potentials. The company's benefit becomes obvious. Furthermore the economically reasonable and not the technical possible will be aimed.
