Concepts for Full Traceability - Establishing the Foundation for Smart Manufacturing within the Framework of the Digital Shadow

This chapter describes the concept and integration approaches of the Digital Shadow including an underlying traceability system in lithium-ion battery production. Specific challenges are addressed, such as technical and process-related changes in the batch structures. Thus, integration concepts for full traceability, including solution morphology with focus on identification technologies in lithium-ion battery production along with the challenges but also the advantages, like the reduction of costs, have been elaborated and described. The established concepts form the basis for Smart Manufacturing within the framework of the Digital Shadow.
