Determination of 17alpha-ethinylestradiol using GC/MS/MS

The endocrine efficacy of 17alpha-Ethinylestradiol on zebra fish was investigated in a life-cycle test in a range of concentrations between 10 and 0.05 ng/l. An analytical method was developed to monitor these very low concentrations with a limit of detection of 0.05 ng/l. EMPORE disks were used for extraction. The 17alpha-Ethinylestradiol was then determined with GC/MS/MS following silylation with MSTFA.
