Title

Time-based occupancy planning method for assembly areas at production site of large structures

Abstract
The planning task for the optimal allocation of production space is extremely complex for large structures. Considering the production progress and completion dates of the large assemblies, the assembly area stands out as an essential resource that has significant influence in the planning of large construction projects. The planning of this important resource is carried out by employees with rudimentary systems at a very high cost. To assist the employees and to reduce the manual planning effort, a system was developed that visualizes the assembly area utilization in the context of space utilization planning with semi-automatic occupancy planning algorithms.
