Mit PCR der Parodontitis auf der Spur

Periodontitis is a widespread disease with estimated twelve million German citizens, who are affected by the inflammatory dental disease. Today pathogenic bacteria are known as a main cause for periodontitis. Here, we introduce an integrated, qPCR based lab-on-a-chip system for their fast detection. The simple technology can be used as a platform for further diagnostic applications.
