Evaluation of the swiss participation in COST

The European scheme for Co-operation in the field of Science and Technology (COST), the European Community's RTD Framework Programmes, the application-oriented initiative EUREKA and the co-ordination efforts of the European Science Foudation (ESF) can be considered pillars of European co-operation in science and technology. Switzerland has been a member of COST since it was set up in 1971 and has the same rights and obligations as the other member states. Non-EU member Switzerland has participated in the European Framework Programmes since 1987 as associated country.
