Title

Standardized Sensor Infrastructure for Seasonal and Multi-Seasonal Data Collection in Orchard Management

Abstract
This paper introduces a versatile multi-sensor carrier platform designed for multi-seasonal data collection in modern commercial fruit growing, developed to address the challenges associated with data acquisition in this field. The platform ensures reliable power supply, integrates precise georeferencing using RTK-GNSS, and provides an intuitive user interface, allowing non-technical personnel to conduct field data collection efficiently. A specific variant of the multi-sensor system is equipped with high-quality sensors to capture high-resolution RGB images, LiDAR point clouds and IMU data, enabling the recording of recurring datasets throughout and across the season. The platform holds significant potential for enhancing the efficiency and accuracy of treatment measures in fruit growing by incorporating deep learning algorithms and utilizing historical datasets for multi-seasonal predictive models.
