Title

Distribution parameters of a plastic-elastic transition function for normal force effects on the abrasive wear of organic coatings

Abstract
Based on an empirical-mathematical model and on detailed quantitative SEM inspections, the distribution parameters of a two-parameter Weibull transition model are computed for three typical polymer materials for organic offshore coatings. The model links a plastic-elastic transition parameter to applied normal forces. The scale parameter depends on the polymer hardness and is particularly high for the elastically responding epoxy.
