Virtual Environment for Education and Training in Safety Engineering and Maintenance

Education and training depends on perception of, information about and selfdriven examination of unknown environments. The paper describes a virtual environment for education and training in safety engineering and maintenance. The characteristics of the environment is a combination of 3D-visualization, real-time simulation and multimedia representation of information. The user will interact in a realistic environment of manufacturing engineering facilities with dynamic behavior, real-time interactivity and free control of information support. First experiences will be presented from different projects.
