Transparent insulation at the self-sufficient solar house, Freiburg

Transparent insulation (TI) is one of the fundamental contributions toward the entire energy concept of the Self-Sufficient Solar House. The building shape and appearance are determined by the TI-application. The paper presents the development of an architecture and a facade construction, which pays special attention to the fact that small amounts of energy are of main importance at the goal of energetic self-sufficiency.
