Supporting the supplier selection process by calculating cost-efficiency

Focusing on their core-competencies, companies are reducing their vertical range of manufacturing by shifting a large amount of value-added production steps to suppliers. Due to this situation, a companys success is becoming more and more dependent on the performance of its suppliers, therefore increasing the importance of establishing a highperformance supplier network. Doing so, it is necessary to focus on all costs, and especially on the follow-up costs. This paper proposes a new approach for gathering and assessing follow-up costs for procured goods.
