Abstract
The Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology ILT has developed SMaC, a coating process that combines extreme high-speed laser material deposition (EHLA) and mechanical post-machining in a single process. Thanks to SMaC, high-strength coating materials can be applied quickly and efficiently, and simultaneously finished by machining.
