Title

Regeneration of HO2 rather than DO2 from benzene-d6-OH +O2

Title Supplement
A contribution to subproject LACTOZ
Abstract
Motivation: We are employing flash photolysis/resonance fluorescence to study the mechanism of tropospheric oxidation of aromatics. We have already revealed that aromatic-OH adducts do react with O2 at tropospheric conditions, and that HO2 is a fast (but not necessarily direct) product. While HO2 is the natural outcome of all proposed mechanisms they differ in which H atom is carried away. Experiments with deuterated compounds may discriminate between mechanisms.
