Abstract
Investigations for preparation of wear-resistant surfaces by laser-induced incorporation of hard materials are summarized. The laser technologies based an alloying, dispersing and cladding are characterized. As hard materials titanium and tungsten carbides and composites made from them are used. The material is predeposited by special printing techniques or is added simultaneously with the irradiation. The development of the structure in dependence on irradiation conditions is described. Tribological tests prove that the wear resistance can be markedly increased.
