Title
Laser-induced breakdown spectrometry (LIBS)
Abstract
LIBS is a technique for the simultaneous multi-elemental analysis of substances in solid, liquid or gaseous phase and is particularly useful in elemental determination in environmental samples. Sensitive enough to determine heavy metals at low concentrations in soils, even higher sensitivities, can be achieved by the combination of the technique with laser induced fluorescence in the hyphenated technique, LIBS-LIF.
