Gripping systems for intralogistics aiming at the "Swiss army knife" of intralogistics solutions

This paper introduces the current state of academic and industrial research and development of a mechanical construction kit for customizable handling systems in defined sectors of the area of intralogistics. This subject is the goal of research and development of both the ongoing public funded German research project "Gripping modules for intralogistics" (Greifmodule für die Intralogistik) as well as the parallel ongoing activities of the preliminary development department of SCHUNK GmbH & Co. KG. The results of both projects are leading to one common construction kit and will be presented in this paper.
