The global store server - a multimedia teleservice component

The Global Store Server is part of the Multimedia Mail architecture which is currently being realized within the BERKOM Project Multimedia Teleservices, funded by the German Telekom and managed by DeTeBerkom. This paper focuses on the various motivations behind the usage of and design criteria for the development of a Global Store Server. It illustrates its service interface and its internal architecture, including resource management, access control, and accounting. Furthermore, it focuses on specific design goals related to the demand for realtime data tranfer and its use in a more generalized teleservice approach.
